Another newcomer with a few questions.

I am really excited to have been introduced to this book. I have tried a number of different things and haven't had much success or felt we are learning much. Now, I have a different approach and know things will be different.

On to the questions. We have a 10yo son, 5yo daughter with down syndrome and a 2mo son. We are in a difficult period of transition with our daughter right now. I am wondering if anyone can suggest some schedule ideas to help out our day. She really thrives on routine and hasn't been getting what she needs lately. CONSISTENCY!!!

The next question is math. We spent the last half of the year doing a math workbook with DS. He loves math and is really quick at mental math with some of the games he plays. Doing the workbooks has put the drugery into math that is making him hate it and worry about having a grade. Any books suggestions for getting him back into loving math and letting him move onto wanting to do Algebra. I want to learn right along with him as math was a subject I hated, but I am seeing it isn't so bad.

I have really enjoyed reading some of the posts here and look forward to learning more as we move along this path.

Blessings,
Christi

math thought

Reading _Murderous Maths_ series with my children helped me enjoy math and really start thinking in a mathy way. We also read some of _Mathematicians Are People, Too_, but didn't keep it up. Now I'm a lot more comfortable doing math myself while cooking and shopping, which inspires my children far more than back in the days when my attitude was, "I'm the mom; I don't have to do math."
