Other TJEd Resources

Although we try to do the best we can with TJEdRefers generally to the concepts presented in the book A Thomas Jefferson Education, written by Dr. Oliver Van DeMille..org, there are a host of other sites on the Web full of wonderful information. Below is a non-exhaustive list of some of our favorites. If you have other links that you’d like to see here, please let us know.

Educational

  • Although we are not affiliated with George Wythe College, or Dr. DeMille and his associates, we are profoundly grateful for the influence they have had in our lives thus far. The materials that they publish themselves are truly outstanding.
  • This site offers some of the most popular seminars and lectures from George Wythe College available in a downloadable format, so you can purchase and be listening within minutes.
  • These folks have an outstanding selection of classics, and carry many books that are hard to find elsewhere.
  • Liber League member organizations share the common goal of building statesmen. George Wythe College hosts an annual Summit for members of the Liber League.
  • HomeFires is an organization founded by Diann Jeppson and Jodie Palmer with the purpose of Building Families that Build Statesmen. We are so impressed with what they are doing that we sell their flagship product, the TJEd Basic TrainingTM Course on this site.
  • Leadership Education Mentoring Institute is an organization dedicated to the training of mentors in TJEd philosophy and methodology. LEMI trains mentors how to bridge the gap between wanting an excellent, broad liberal arts education and getting one.
  • Moor House Academy is an online private school, licensed in Orem, Utah. The Academy employs a Restored Gospel Leadership Education model, which seeks to assist individuals and families in anchoring their education in the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to moor that experience to the classics.
  • After being introduced to mentoring while attending George Wythe College, Benton Morley recognized its benefits, and founded WOEO to give everyone the opportunity of having a mentor. They provide mentoring programs for students of all ages, as well as various other programs, including interactive colloquia via telephone conference, moderated by a WOEO representative.

Home & Family

  • Art of Womanhood is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to restoring an understanding of true womanhood. Through study circles, where women mentor women, participants encourage and support one another to fulfill their inherent roles. Participants read, write, and discuss to enhance their leadership education in Womanhood.
  • Supporting homemakers and sharing ideas needed for maintaining your home with articles, crafts, recipes and ideas in hundreds of categories!
  • A site dedicated to inspiring mothers to enjoy life as they have, nurture, raise and teach their children. You will find pages of beauty, articles that will leave you with tender tears and bubbles of laughter and suggestions useful in teaching your children and managing your home.

Financial

  • SmartCents, Inc. is a firm dedicated to teaching fundamental principles of wealth accumulation and financial independence using holistic methods that merge the use of logic as well as emotion when handling money. The purpose of SmartCents, Inc. is to bring debt-free living to as many people as possible so that they can strengthen their communities by being conservers rather than consumers.

Technical

  • This is the incredible Open Source content management system that powers every bit of this newest incarnation of TJEd.org.
  • These artisans are the source of the American ScribeTM font that we used so liberally on former versions of this site, but now it remains only in the Consortium logo at the top of each page. It sells for $39, and it was worth every penny we paid for it.
